Mike,
I know you guys are creating so many awsome memories. I am happy for you but a little bit jealous. Our prayers are with you and Caleb. The secret is to bless and affirm him. In Christ.

Wow, this is the coolest thing ever! I admire your determination to learn and pass on the example of what a father should be even when that example was not there. May the Lord bless you two on your journey!

I agree with you and my wife. One thing I loved GPC was that you were very intentional in where the money goes and not just a big lump to SBC and let them sort it out. It seems that if we build a committee or SBC being a slow moving organization that is putting one more barrier between the layman and global impact. It seems in most SBC churches I've been to there is a disconnect between the people of a church and Global missions. Too often churches send money to an organization to "do there part" in mission work and then do nothing themselves locally or globally and the rest of the money is spent internally and then wonder why aren't new people coming into our church, we have these wonderful programs. That is what we loved about GPC that it isn't as focused internally as engaging and impacting NWA and globally and meeting people where they are and not expect them to come to us. Keep it up!

P.S.-I guess that means Jennifer & I are 2 of the 5 readers! :-)

Mike,
Organizations truly slow down God\'s work...hence the problem with the Southern Baptist Convention. I wonder if it is more machine than actual doing of God\'s work. That is one thing that I truly love about GPC, that there is almost no committees. It is truly freeing what kind of work God can do through a church like GracePoint. I miss you guys and your leadership (not that I don\'t love LifeChurch)!

God bless!

Hi Mike. We do multi-site for similar reasons. Our desire has always been to more effectively reach and disciple people in a large, diverse city. Multi-site has enabled us to minister through many people to many people in a large, dense and diverse urban context. And it has definitely been a leadership-producing movement. Instead of one pastor in one mega location defining the church's personality, we have 18 pastors in 15 locations creating a diverse church personality. I'm grateful to see you using this valuable tool to advance the church's mission.

Brother Mike,

Please know that our prayers (mine and those of my congregation) are with you, your family, and Memory and Gift, as they venture into life together.

God bless you for your ministry and all you do for God's Kingdom!
