Brother Mike,

Please know that our prayers (mine and those of my congregation) are with you, your family, and Memory and Gift, as they venture into life together.

God bless you for your ministry and all you do for God's Kingdom!

Wow, what a story..I did not go on facebook for two days and missed all the great happenings. Can't wait to hear the rest of the story.Amazing that God has set all this up in advance for you to be in that place for today. Having a relationship with Memory's family, connection with Friday and her friend...so amazing God's plans, why do we ever doubt Him?? He truly is in control! We just don't understand because it is not in the same degree of control we think should be happening. So proud that I have a pastor that would sacrifice comfort over a commission to go and find Memory. Thanks Pastor Mike for being amazing and your family for all their love and support, we are blessed by you all, can't wait to see you back here soon!

I was just remembering a recent news article I read about President Obama... He recently signed the Ryan White Act to allow HIV positive individuals entry into the US... I think it takes affect in January. Just a little glimmer of hope if Memory does happen to be HIV Positive, but still praying that she is healthy!

Scriptures to Pray Over Pastor Mike
*2 Chronicles 16:9 – Lord Jesus, we ask that you guide Pastor Mike to Memory. We praise you and thank you that ALL things are possible with You and that – “…the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him…”

*Psalm 18:2 – “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

*Jeremiah 17:14 – “Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.” We thank you Lord, that by Your stripes we are healed. Thank you for completely healing Memory and making her whole. Thank you for saving her. We give You all the glory and honor and praise. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

*Isaiah 1:17 -- “…learn to do right! Seek justice,
encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.” Lord, we pray for justice and encouragement for Memory. We ask that her uncles agree to release her.

*Psalm 121:8 – “the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” Thank you Lord, for watching over our Pastor, his family, and Memory. We ask that your angels encamp around them, protecting them from all evil and danger. Please bind the enemy away from them. We praise You and thank You. In the precious name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

*Matthew 17:20 – “if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Thank you, Father, for removing ALL obstacles. Thank you for giving Pastor Mike favor with all government officials. Thank you, Lord, for placing the exact people needed in Pastor Mike’s path, for giving them wisdom and that a visa will be granted to bring Memory home. Help Pastor Mike to ‘win over the hearts of all people he interacts with’ – 2 Samuel 19:14 “He won over the hearts of all the men of Judah as though they were one man. They sent word to the king, "Return, you and all your men."

Thank You, God, that You are being glorified through this situation, that Your love knows no bounds, and that You are the God of reconciliation. We are so thankful, Lord ☺

I wanted to comment more on the time I spent listening to Friday speak at church on Sunday. What I realized hit me hard and goes into his observations of Americans.

What hit me? That we take things for granted as Americans. We all know that. But that we take our religion for granted as Americans! What a horrible thing to take for granted!

As he spoke of people falling to their knees in Africa on dirt roads as they listen to him speak of Jesus, my heart sunk. We are too often \'shy\' and won\'t fall to our knees at our church home or even in our own home.

We can all learn a lot from Friday and I did. My prayer is now that I will remember it and slow down!

Thank, Mike, for sharing such a special friend with us all.

Here is my question:

What changes in your life after you post these observations? Do you try to take time to not be on a schedule?

I am an associate pastor in Central Arkansas and I am from WA state. I have lived in NY, CA, WA, OR and OK before I got here. Things move at a slower pace in AR than in other parts of the country...but scheduling is still important to most people most of the time.

So do these observations change the way you are going to approach life, your job, your family...etc?

A couple more excellent resources I wanted to share. Neil T. Anderson writes of freedom in Christ in a very powerful, applicable manner. His books Victory Over the Darkness and Bondage Breaker can be read together as tools for breaking free from spiritual bondage.
